if ($stmt = $mysqli->prepare("SELECT Code, Name FROM Country ORDER BY Name LIMIT 5")) { 
    $stmt->execute(); 
    $stmt->bind_result($col1, $col2); 
    while ($stmt->fetch()) { 
        printf("%s %s\n", $col1, $col2); 
    } 
    $stmt->close(); 
} 
$mysqli->close(); 
?>

Expected result:
----------------
print the database values

Actual result:
--------------
CLI has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If i run this code via Apache it crashes Apache

just tried the same code on PHP 5.1.1 on: mySQL 4.1.16-nt and still crashes.
