I had previously installed PHP 5.0 as an Apache 2 module. After upgrading to PHP 5.1.1 I get either "Fatal error: Class 'mysqli' not found in..." or "Call to undefined function mysql_connect()..." when I visit any page that uses mysql or mysqli. Both mysql.dll and mysqli.dll are enabled in php.ini! After reverting back to PHP 5.0 everthing works as it used to.

Sorry, my bad. (It was 4 am and I couldn't get the damned thing to work..!) 

Anyway, for some reason, PHP 5.0 would find my php.ini in the Apache install directory. PHP 5.1.1 would not. It would only find it in C:\WINDOWS. After moving php.ini to C:\WINDOWS and changing some settings (like the "use ASP-style tags", which is defaulted to OFF) it all works again....
