Description:
------------
I'm trying to access news.php.net and get extremely slow performance which causes by NNTP client (Forte Agent) to time out with a message "Connection closed unexpectedly by server". The problem has persisted for several weeks. Are there any special settings that my NNTP client requires to use your site? I'm using an anonymous login and the site will begin to pull message headers and then crap out after about 60 seconds.

I saw previous messages where you had to fix it or "gave it a kick".

Thanks for any help you can offer,
Steve

The lists server has too much on its plate right now, so we've deliberately throttled NNTP to be near-unusable.

We have something in the pipeline to solve this, but no immediate time-frame.

You should use the mailing lists directly if you require reliable service.

NNTP has been up and running for a few days now.
