When PHP calls mysql_connect two additional headers are added to output:

File 'C: \mysql\\share\charsets\?.conf' not found (Errcode: 22)
Character set '#33' is not a compiled character set and is not specified in the 'C: \mysql\\share\charsets\Index' file

Reproduce code:
	function connect() {
		if (self::connected()) {
			return false;
		} else {
			if (self::$dblink = mysql_connect(self::$server, self::$user, self::$pass)) {
				return true;
		} else {
				return false;
