I've tried the property schemaTypeInfo in DomElement. It seems to my that this property doesn't work, because this property doesn't return an object from DomTypeInfo class.

Reproduce code:
$dom = new DomDocument();
if(!$dom) {
  echo "Error while parsing the document\n";
print ($tags->item(0)->nodeName);
print (get_class($type));

I've used the examples shipping.xml and shipping.xsd which comes with PHP 5 RC 2.

Expected result:
An object of DomTypeInfo in $type

Actual result:
