My ISP at Digital Nation (dn.net) installed the new php4 beta 3 on my Sun UltaSparc over an existing copy of php3. All the old php3 scripts run with php4, but extremely slow. I get high traffic to the site and it works fine on php3. With php4 each request takes up huge % of the cpu and causes the processes to pile-up and clog the system. The only other server that I am running is mysql on apache. When I reload php3, everything goes back to normal.
