I followed the cvs instructions posted on the cvs web page, and recieved the following output:

# cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@www.lerdorf.on.ca:/repository login
(Logging in to cvsread@www.lerdorf.on.ca)
CVS password:
# cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@www.lerdorf.on.ca:/repository checkout php3
cvs server: existing repository /repository does not match /repository/php3
cvs server: ignoring module php3

It works fine, it may have been down temporarily back
then.

If you still experience problems with this, something's
broken on your end.
Try removing the corresponding lines from ~/.cvspass
and try the logging in process over again.
