Execute this from the command line:

<?php

ob_start();
ob_end_clean();

echo "DONE\n";

sleep(2);

?>

In PHP 4.2.2, you would see the "DONE" text right away, before the sleep(2) processes. In PHP 4.2.3, the "DONE" text does not appear until the execution of the script has ended. Putting a flush() statement after the echo does not help.

ignore, output_buffering was enabled in the php.ini which caused the problem
