The PEAR package manager uses "i" as the shortcut for both the "install" and "info" commands. I suggest keeping i for install and removing the info shortcut. First, install is a far more popular command. Second, to remove all possible confusion between info and install, the info shortcut needs to be "inf" and that's only one letter less than the full word.

(Since install and info both begin with "in," keeping both requires install to be "ins" and info to be "inf" and that's just odd.)

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make PHP better.

The 'i' command does not appear to be supported any longer by the pear executable. The full names 'info' and 'install' should be used instead.

Where do you see this?

I just checked /php4/pear/PEAR/Command/Registry.php and Install.php and both files still have 'i' as a shortcut. Is this no longer the correct location for the most up-to-date version of pear?

"info" shortcut changed to "in". Wait for the PEAR 1.0b3 release, or install from CVS.
