Having tested PHP 4.2.1 (win32) on Apache 2.0.36 (Win32), I could not use the directives php_flag nor php_admin_flag in apache conf file : unknown directives, maybe a module not loaded. The php4apache2.dll was loaded and functionnal except for this issue.

I have had a look at the released 4.2.1 source code.

The php_dir_cmds structure in apache_config.c file of PHP 4.2.1 version seems to missing definitions for 'php_flag' and 'php_admin_flag' commands.

Using php_value command works okay, so the bug might well be only the absence (above) of the defintion for 'php_flag'.

Side note : php_admin_value refused to work (where it worked before with Apache 1.3.24) saying : not allowed at this location. Might be a documentation issue that I would have overlooked.

This bug has been fixed in CVS. You can grab a snapshot of the
CVS version at http://snaps.php.net/. In case this was a documentation 
problem, the fix will show up soon at http://www.php.net/manual/.
In case this was a PHP.net website problem, the change will show
up on the PHP.net site and on the mirror sites.

Thanks, verified. Fixed in code, but I do not know if it is tested and functionnal.

Do you think it would be reasonnable to grab the apache2filter directory from the latest snapshot and attempt to compile it (win32) within the current released 4.2.1 source code base, as to obtain a temporary locally built 4.2.1 with this important fix ?

Or are there other architectural changes which would certainly forbid even attempting this ?
