It's very simple : that dont work !!!!!!!!!! :

function foo1($x)
{
	function foo2()
	{	
	     global $x;
	     echo '$x =', $x, '<br>';	
	}
}
foo1(3);
?>

when you are doing recursivity the globals variables are very very very important
