When attempting to use the PEAR Package Manager I have the following problems. PPM installs packages in c:\php4 even when the enviroment variables in pear.bat point to c:\php. As a work around I reinstall PHP in c:\php4 this installed most of the package correctly but the readme file was copied to c:\Auth\README.Auth. and the script gave the following error message 'Undefined variable: dest_dir c:\php4\pear\PEAR\Installer.php on line 147'.

The first issue with the PHP Windows is not related to PEAR. It's reported at: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=17516. The second one should be fixed in CVS, please try the lastest version.

Thanks,

Tomas V.V.Cox
