mkdir ("/path/to/my/dir", 0700);
mkdir ("dir", 0700);
creates directory but dumps core right after.
I have serious suspections that other dir api functions (like is_dir) have similar problems.

this is a dublicate. additinally it is fixed in head. The fix will also be in 4.2.1.
