Hi,

I am encountering this strange problem whilst using chop() function in PHP to trim some specified characters from the trailing part of the string. PHP Manual says that chop and rtrim are aliases of each other. 

But when I use chop() function, Apache crashes with a Dr. Watson Error message. My PHP is configured for a SAPI dll use with Apache as against CGI solution. 

When I reconfigured my Apache to use PHP as CGI, the error message was different. PHP crashes with a Dr. Watson Error (OleWnd...) and Apache reports a 500 Internal Server Error. 

I have read in some Perl book that chop is a function in Perl. I doubt whether to use chop function, any implementation of Perl is needed. 

Please help...

The problem is bit vagarious and sometimes is not reproducible too.
