This one seems to be similar to bug id 10269. Could someone assist me in working this out?

If it is similar to but 10269, then I suggest that we 
start by trying what Monty proposed in 10269. :) 

To compile my_getwd.c, you must either have the
getcwd() or getwd() library call in the libc library.

You many not have all the development
headers/libraries needed installed on your machine.

To find out what's wrong, please examine the config.log 
file and try to find out why neither of the above 
functions was found by configure.
