Hi,

i tried installation of PHP 4.04 on 2 computers, both web servers:
1st: win 2k server sp2, MSSQL7. PHP installed as cgi.
2nd: win 2k adv. server sp2; MSSQL 2000. PHP installed as cgi.

symptoms on 1st: randomly freezes machine which doesn't respond to anything exept to manual shutdown.
PHP does work.

symptoms on 2nd: everything was very smooth on this machine, but when i installed PHP, IIS and console stopped responding in random intervals (3 times in one day).
After i uninstalled it, everything works smoothly again.

note: php works all the time untill freezing.

any help ?

Does the same happenwith php 4.0.6, or the latest development version from www.php4win.com?

Derick

since those machines are web servers, i couldn't "play" and leave PHP on both of them.

I also have it installed on my machine, and i dont't have problems.. but i don't run IIS on it :)

Can you think of anything else except just trying with new version?

The ISAPI filter was not that very stable with 4.0.4. It improved a lot, so the best thing is to try a newer version first.

although it was running as CGI, not isapi?

Can you please try a new version and see if the problem still exists?
