trying to run $PATH_TRANSLATED through dirname will not give directory name.

Should be fixed now.  On Windows, dirname() and basename()
will understand both "/" and "\".  I don't have a Windows
box handy for testing, could someone cvs update and test
dirname() and basename() on Windows?
