When connecting to an Oracle 7 database using OCI8 I get
ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied
(This happens both using OCILogon() and OCIPLogon())

Note that oracle 8 and 8i databases work allright while
none of my 7 databases work.

If the password in incorrect, OCI tells me so, and if the password is correct I get this error.

I user php as a module in apache, and OCI uses the oracle 8 client.

Solution as described in bug id 13525 works.
Set NLS_LANG before starting apache:

export NLS_LANG=English_America.WE8ISO8859P1
