I am trying to convert an asp site to php. The site relies upon 3rd party COM objects to generate maps etc. Methods of these COM objects return arrays as well as requiring arrays to be passed.

I know that the problem of passing arrays was reported in bug id # 7691 and that phanto said he was working on it on Jan 29,2001. When he finishes that will solve half of my problem but I haven't seen any requests or comments for COM methods returning arrays.

I tried 4.0.5 but the COM seems to be completely broken, so have reverted to 4.0.4.

If I can't work around these problems then I will lose the one & only opportunity to introduce php into a major government site (I have been given a limited time to generate a pilot version of the asp site in php.

Thank you, Paul Shortis
