As soon as I'm using array('hostkey' => 'ssh-rsa') in the methods field of the ssh2_connect function, I get the following error message:

Warning: ssh2_connect(): Error starting up SSH connection(-5): Unable to exchange encryption keys in [...] on line x.

It is triggered by the ssh2_connect function so it doesn't even reach the ssh2_auth_pubkey_file function...


I need it to connect with a rsa pair of key. Any idea?

I'm running FreeBSD 6.1 with libssh2-0.14 and pecl-ssh2-0.10.



 

Reproduce code:

$connection = ssh2_connect('ip_address', 22, array('hostkey' => 'ssh-rsa'));


Expected result:
----------------
it shouldn't complain about its inability to exchange encryption keys, we're not yet at this step.

Actual result:
--------------
Warning: ssh2_connect(): Error starting up SSH connection(-5): Unable to exchange encryption keys in [...] on line x.
