given the expression:

eregi("<[^>]*meta*\"?[^>]*>", $secvalue) 

when $secvalue="<met>test</met>", this expression returns true.

aren't the litterals here "meta" = "met"?

meta* means met followed by 0 or more occurences of 'a'.
