Description:
------------
It might be nice if php-ldap's bind http://php.net/manual/en/function.ldap-bind.php could use SRV records to resolve an active LDAP server.

Note that this can be implemented in userland using https://www.php.net/manual/en/function.dns-get-record.php

I’m not sure it would make sense to implement this in php-ldap, some kind of generic function to get information out of SRV records following RFC 2782 would make more sense.

I totally agree SRV support should be generally available. It becomes an easy failover mechanism for many protocols besides LDAP.

At the time I opened the bug, I was very focused on relying on SRV records for LDAP server failover.
