I recently installed php-4.0.3pl1 with Apache 1.3.14 with EAPI enabled. I am using mm-1.1.3. I do not have any of the mod_ssl stuff turned on. And I do have rpms of all the software I am using if it would help.

Basically I have a slow memory leak in mod_php4
I am able to reproduce this bug by hitting my web server with 8 simultaneous connections for about 75 hits. The system starts freeing up swap space for the fir 20-30 hits. Then it starts allocating it in a big way. After about 75-150 hits all of my swap space is taken up and the whole server falls down.

I was able to trigger the memory leak with a file called index.php
It contained only contained

sdfasdflkjsadlkj

So it didn't even have any php code in it.

Are you sure you are using 4.0.3pl1? Can you try a snapshot from snaps.php.net?

Reopen, if this still happens when using latest snapshot
from http://snaps.php.net/
