I've just seen that PHP 5.5.27RC1 will be release shortly and tried version below

VC11 x86 Thread Safe (2015-Jun-24 23:05:06)

the socket extension is missing in distrib.

FYI, this is the only one missing comparing to 5.5.26

Expected result:

File ext/php_sockets.dll should be present in archive

Actual result:
--------------
File ext/php_sockets.dll is missing

Yeah, it's a known issue. ext/sockets will be available in the final release.
