I'm trying to build the latest version of PHP 5.5 (2013-07-01 20:30)

sudo ./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-mysql
##############

the ./configure works ok, when I run the make command I get an error saying:

/Downloads/php5.5-201307012030/libtool: eval: line 2384: unexpected EOF while 
looking for matching `"'

/Downloads/php5.5-201307012030/libtool: eval: line 2385: syntax error: 
unexpected end of file

make: *** [libphp5.la] Error 2

I tried the snap version after getting the same build error with the stable 
version.
