There is a wrong description for function preg_quote at http://php.net/manual/en/function.preg-quote.php:

Description:
> preg_quote — Quote regular expression characters

Return value: 
> Returns the quoted string.

Correct description:
> preg_quote — Escapes special characters used by regular expression. Name of this function is wrong, it has nothing to do with quoting.

Correct Return value: 
> Returns the escaped string.

IMO the terms "quote"/"quoting" are absolutely fine here.

The word "escaped" was added to the return description, but "quote" is fine here 
as the function is named preg_quote(). The overall description clarifies the 
behavior of this function.
