the lis of characters in my opinion, since it is affected by the funcion 
(escaped).


Expected result:

/ is not on the list

No, it's not:

php > var_dump(preg_quote('/'));
string(1) "/"

The "/" character is only escaped when specified as the $delimiter argument.
