Can't describe how to reproduce as happens intermittently.

Compiled as an Apache DSO --enable-trans-sid --with-apxs --with-mysql

Using Zend Optimizer

my trans-sid rewrite should fix it
it is availabel in CVS and will be part of 4.0.2
