Description:

In centos running as 
/usr/bin/php /tmp/test.php & 

will make the process running in background. It's all working in 5.2.16 but in 5.3.8, it's not working.

It says 

[1]+  Stopped        php /tmp/test.php

But it's running properly without &



Test script:

$i =0;
while($test)
{
  if($i++ > 10)
  $test = false;
  echo 'test';

}
?>

Expected result:
----------------
The program must run in a background.

I have tried stty -tostop, still the same

[root@localhost ~]# stty -tostop
[root@localhost ~]# php /tmp/1.php &
[1] 7172
[root@localhost ~]# 

[1]+  Stopped                 php /tmp/1.php
[root@localhost ~]#

I have modified the script without require any input or output like this

Still the same issue

I meant try without the readline extension loaded/compiled in.
Is your PHP built with readline support?
