Description:
------------
There seem to be two issues when trying to build the intl PECL package on OS X.

1) Missing PHP_SETUP_ICU definition

Running configure resulted in:

checking whether to enable internationalization support... yes, shared
./configure: line 3825: syntax error near unexpected token `INTL_SHARED_LIBADD'
./configure: line 3825: ` PHP_SETUP_ICU(INTL_SHARED_LIBADD)'

By copying the PHP_SETUP_ICU definition from http://www.mail-archive.com/php-cvs@lists.php.net/msg27206.html I was able to make configure run.

2) Incompatible ptrdiff_t type

make resulted in error:

/private/tmp/pear/cache/intl-1.0.0beta/collator/collator_sort.c:30: error: conflicting types for 'ptrdiff_t'
/usr/lib/gcc/i686-apple-darwin9/4.0.1/include/stddef.h:152: error: previous declaration of 'ptrdiff_t' was here

This was fixable by removing ptrdiff_t definition in collator_sort.c.

got the same problems on Ubuntu 7.10 (lastest cvs of intl for PHP 5.2) needed to drop the ptrdiff_t definition and pasted the PHP_SETUP_ICU

I think you need to upgrade the source to latest 5.2.x. It should contain PHP_SETUP_ICU. Please report if you have the ptrdiff problem with latest source too.
