If i use json_encode its truncates the string on an unexpected char

Reproduce code:
---------------
$tmp = array('Lib' => 'R?le');
echo json_encode($tmp);


Expected result:
----------------
"Lib":"R?le"

Actual result:
--------------
"Lib":"R"
