it would be nice to have a dropdown for the package version to go along with the drop down for the php version. if a dropdown is too hard to add (afaik the php version drop down is hand managed and not dynamically generated) then an input field would suffice for now.

I do agree with this. Most of bugs I see do not mention the package version. It would be nice to have something like :

Package version (or "cvs") : <input field>

The following patch:

is a way to implement Package Version as part of a bug report, so we
can track both things.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

If this was a documentation problem, the fix will appear on pear.php.net by the end of next Sunday (CET).

If this was a problem with the pear.php.net website, the change should be live shortly.

Otherwise, the fix will appear in the package's next release.
