Hi, 
PEAR Version 1.2.1 installed
pear -vv install xdebug installs xdebug 1.3. dev ( although my prefs are set to only install stable packages).
Enabling xdebug in /etc/php-cli.ini causes pear to segfault.

Retry with latest Xdebug 1.3 CVS and report bugs at bugs.xdebug.org.
