According to the changelog for the function json_encode() it gained the ability to encode basic types in 5.2.1, this is incorrect. json_decode() gained the ability to decode basic types.

Log: Moved 5.2.1 changelog item from -encode to -decode, as it was meant to be. Closes bug #55786.

This bug has been fixed in SVN.

Added support for JSON encoding of basic types.
Need also replace "encoding" to "decoding". Thx!
