il2.php.net responses are very slow in general.
Tested from multiple ISPs (netvision 013, bezeqint 014, golden lines 012)

Sometimes, requests even time out.
In most cases, they are 10+ seconds.
Rarely responses come normally.

In general, it is MUCH faster surfing over us.php.net mirror now than il2 from 
israel.

Tested now accessing "php.net" without mirror specified, (attempted to access 
http://php.net/ini_set ) and php.net stayed showing results directly, without 
redirect to israeli mirror.

Test script:

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  I manually checked all active mirrors 
on 07-NOV-2010 and they worked as expected.  Today, you're correct: it's not 
working as it should.

I've contacted the maintainer of the mirror and we'll have this sorted out as 
soon as possible.

The mirror was repaired and placed back in rotation yesterday, and now twenty-
four hours later, all still seems well.

il2 mirror is timing out again. please, check

Even though it's the same issue, after a bug has been closed, please open a new 
one rather than appending to an old one.  This way it reduces the chances of the 
bug being overlooked in the system.

As for the mirror, it's responding in a reasonable amount of time.  Yes, others 
are better, but considering I'm on the other side of the world and the page 
loaded in its entirety within 3.5 seconds, it's fair enough to remain.  Perhaps 
you'd seen it slower when you submitted the update.

and language (among other parts of your php.net experience) by visiting:
