PHP modules via extension in php.ini:
extension=pdf.so
extension=rst_sql.so
extension=gpassmode.so
extension=pdo_mysql.so
extension=fileinfo.so
extension=rc4.so

installing memcached.so via /usr/ports (as a module for PHP 5.3.2) - OK
installing memcached.so from source code (source from pecl.php.net, phpize) - OK

When added in php.ini:
extension=memcached.so
then run `php -m', PHP is dumping core "Segmentation fault: 11 (core dumped)"

The module most likely wasn't compiled for that version of PHP or a similar problem or is caused by FreeBSD's dlopen which is known to cause problems if modules are loaded in a wrong order. This sounds more like a "support" issue than a bug. And if there is a bug it is in the memcache module so please report at pecl.php.net and provide a gdb backtrace if regular support channels can't help.
