The following description
session_name() returns the name of the current session. If name is given, session_start() will update the session name and return the old session name. 

should be
session_name() returns the name of the current session. If name is given, session_name() will update the session name and return the old session name.

I forgot to mention: this is a documentation miss in the documentation for session_name.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
