Description:
------------
Actually I am running PHP 5.2.12
Sorry for the noise if this has been addressed.

ldap_connect can accept a host name and a port number.

When the host name is specified via ldaps://hostnamehere/ then
the port number given as a parameter will be ignored.
The workaround is easy:

ldaps://hostnamehere:portnumber

works. Easiest would be to update the documentation I guess.

That is already documented:

"port
The port to connect to. Not used when using URLs."
