As of PHP 5.3.0RC4, preg_quote() now also escapes the '-' (minus) character (cf. http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=47229).

The documentation should reflect this change.


Expected result:

The special regular expression characters are: . \ + * ? [ ^ ] $ ( ) { } = ! < > | : -

And perhaps adds somethings like this:

The - character is only escaped since PHP 5.3.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
