I'w just compiled PHP4 with apache, mysql, imap, ldap, oracle8.05

I recive this error: Fatal error: Cannot use [] for reading in sqlfunctions.php3 on line 36

when I trie to run a script that works under php3.0.9 whith the sam modules compiled in.

for($aMenu[], $inc=0; $inc < ora_numcols($dbcursor) - 1; $inc++, $aMenu[] = ora_getcolumn($dbcursor, $inc));

hmmm... i do not think that this is oracle related - I would put it down to an unexpected behavior or problem with the scripting engine...

Have you tried a new release of php - if so, does the problem still happen?

for($aMenu[], $inc=0; 

what is the $aMenu[] supposed to do? simply remove it -or- (if you want to create a new array at the start of the loop write:

for ($aMenu = array(),$inc=0;
