Please implement a getservbyname call for the default port
for mysql connections. 

We had the port set to a non standard port, but php wasn't
able to connect, since you always set a port (defaulting to
MYSQL_PORT from a mysql include file).

The right way is to first look into the services of the machine
, then if it fails to set the port to any other default value.
