The compile failure at  parsedate.y in RC1.
(refer bug ids #3392 and #3948 that referred to the same problem in 4.0 beta and a possible fix).

What does

$ grep ac_cv_time_r_type config.cache

output? If it does not output a line containing hpux, please send config.log to sas@php.net.
