The php4 build itself works fine, but when I attempt to build apache with the php4 module, it fails with the error:

./gen_test_char: error in loading shared libraries: libdb2.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

We're running apache 1.3.12, DB2 for Linux V6.1 Patchlevel 3.

We've gotten this to compile in a similar fashion on an AIX DB2 server, but the linux one will not build.

If you run

 ldconfig -v |grep libdb2 

do you see any output? If not, add the path of the db2 shared library to /etc/ld.so.conf
