Description:
------------
The php CGI program uses SCRIPT_FILENAME or other CGI variables to find the requested script, but a remote webserver might not know (or want to know) the configuration of the server running php with FastCGI.
A commandline option to switch to using REQUEST_URI together with the php.ini doc_root setting, might be an usefull option.

That would be pretty much non-standard, wouldn't it?
