Description:
------------
Users of the Windows installer version of PHP need to download any extensions they need. There is no clear place to download the MySQL extensions required to use mysql with PHP 5.1. I'd expect it to be in the PECL extensions collection download, but it isn't. To get them it seems one has to download the full PHP zip file. This isn't really the best use of bandwidth if all you are after is the CGI install.

It's clearly stated at http://php.net/downloads.php: "no external extensions included".

Yes - but that is incomplete information. I am not suggesting these extensions should be included in the CGI version.

Information about where to find these common extensions if they are needed is not available. Either they are missing from the PECL extensions download and should be included, or directions for where to find them should be included. I can't tell if they are intentionally left out of the PECL extensions download, or accidentally.

This bug has been fixed in CVS. Since the websites are not directly
updated from the CVS server, the fix might need some time to spread
across the globe to all mirror sites, including PHP.net itself.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make PHP.net better.
