i'm trying to connect to an AL32UTF8 database using a WE8ISO8859P1 client.
when i change the nls_lang parameter in the registry everything works fine, but if i try to change it by the charset parameter i get the wrong result.
tell me please what additional information i could supply...

That's because before 5.1.1 OCI8 was using old Oracle client, but this will change with 5.1.2.
