What was the configure line you used?

./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/1.3.33/bin/apxs --with-mysql=/usr --with-pgsql=/usr --with-pdflib=/usr --with-zlib-dir=/usr --enable-versioning --enable-calendar --with-freetype-dir=/usr --with-imap=/usr --with-jpeg=/usr --with-zlib=/usr --with-gd --with-config-file-path=/etc --with-openssl=/usr --with-ftp --enable-exif --with-mcrypt=/usr --enable-url-includes --enable-track-vars=yes --enable-sysvshm=yes --enable-sysvsem=yes --enable-bcmath

but I used that exact configure line for 4.3.x before...

Need the current line number for the error.
Plus I must assume you know PHP? It's a PHP script, you should know how to debug those.. :)
