While the online documentation says E_ALL does not include E_STRICT, (which is probably correct :), when you read the docs/examples about error-reporting in the php.ini(-dist/-recommended), you get the impression that E_ALL does include E_STRICT too.

Examples:

; E_ALL             - All errors and warnings
should get updated to something like:
; E_ALL             - All errors and warnings, except E_Strict

;   - Show all errors, except for notices and coding standards warnings
;
;error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE & ~E_STRICT

If E_ALL does not include E_STRICT, then " & ~E_STRICT" shouldn't be needed here, right?

The documentation is right (E_ALL doesn't include E_STRICT).

Now its up with the developers if they want to change the php.ini file or not.

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

Snapshots of the sources are packaged every three hours; this change
will be in the next snapshot. You can grab the snapshot at
