http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/types.comparisons.php has a typo in the sentence 

"Note: HTML Forms do not pass integers, floats, or booleans, they pass strings. To find out of a string is numeric, you may use is_numeric(). "

should read

"Note: HTML Forms do not pass integers, floats, or booleans, they pass strings. To find out if a string is numeric, you may use is_numeric(). "

the difference is "out of a string" changed to "out if a string" (of to if).

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
