If and only if you 
./configure --with-interbase=../firebird
            --with-mssql=../freetds
when you make then you obtain a compile failure.

If you configure only 
--with-interbase or only 
--with-freetds there is no problem.


I have used firebirdsql 1.5rc8, and freetd 0.61.1 or 
above.

That's a conflict between firebird and freetds header files.
There's nothing PHP can do about that.

ok, anyway if 
./confgure \
  --with-interbase=../firebird \
  --with-sybase=../freetds
make dont fail and it is possible to access mssql and 
sybase db too.
